Football is the focus of Grey Cup Week. But the big game isn’t until Sunday. And before kick-off there will be plenty of other activities to keep locals and visitors alike in a festive mood. Things get going Wednesday with an official kick-off at City Square Plaza. Most of the events are being held downtown, and at Evraz Place. For music fans, there’s three big concerts happening during the festival. Thursday, Hedley will be playing a show at Brandt Centre. The B.C.-based rock band will also be playing as part of the half-time entertainment at the Grey Cup, but this will be a full-on concert. It goes at Brandt Centre at 8 p.m. and tickets are $51-$82.
Friday, the Barenaked Ladies will be at Brandt Centre. That show gets going at 8 p.m. as well, and tickets range from $37-$67.50. Saturday, the U.S. country duo Big & Rich are in town to play Brandt Centre (tickets are $51-$77.75). Then on Sunday Saskatoon blues rockers The Sheepdogs will take the stage at an event that begins at the relatively ungodly hour (for rock fans anyway) of noon. This concert is at Credit Union Eventplex and tickets are $33.
