First of many Rider-themed transformations that will occur in Regina as the city gears up to host the 2013 Grey Cup on Nov. 24, I imagine. If you click to embiggen, you’ll see that the SaskPower building in beautiful downtown Regina has been embossed with a giant image of Rider mascot Gainer the Gopher… okay, actually I’m just kidding about that. But Rider flags have been hung along the outdoor concourse.
And in other Crown Corporation news, SGI has issued a request for proposals to four companies that have been short-listed to build a new 165,000-180,000 sq ft. office building in downtown Regina. It’s supposed to be LEED Gold standard, so that’s good, and the rumoured site I believe is the north-east corner of Rose and 12th. But don’t quote me on that. And I’ve yet to hear what the future holds for the old SGI tower.
