I was out for a walk in the vicinity of Central Park last night and stumbled across several crews grinding down the concrete at select spots on one stretch of sidewalk I was on. I’ve seen sights like the one pictured above on other sidewalks in the past little while and didn’t know what had caused them. After seeing the crews at work I assume the purpose is to even out ridges that have popped up due to Regina’s ever-shifting soil. It makes for okay walking, although I don’t know if it will have a long-term negative impact on the durability of the concrete.
