If you happened to pick up the July 25-Aug. 7 issue of Prairie Dog you should have received a copy of the program guide for the 2013 Regina Folk Festival. If you didn’t, and plan on attending the festival, which runs Aug. 9-11 in Victoria Park, don’t despair, as copies of the guide will be available on site. As well, if you check out the Aug. 8-21 issue of Prairie Dog, you’ll find several pages of concert previews and other information about the festival — which celebrates its 44th anniversary this year.
Headlining tonight is Feist, with Nomadic Massive, Man Man, Hayden and Elisapie also on the bill, with things getting going at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Loreena McKennitt headlines, with Bahamas, Calypso Rose, Rah Rah and H’sao also on the bill. Then on Sunday Neko Case headlines, with Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Rosanne Cash, Niyaz and Carolina Chocolate Drops also playing. Both nights main stage concerts start at 6 p.m.
In addition to the ticketed night-time performances, there’s also a host of free day-time workshops and concerts on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m. Again, you can get a complete breakdown in our program guide. Or visit the RFF website for more details.
