1 IT’S WASTE WATER PLANT PETITION PRONOUNCEMENT DAY At one o’clock this afternoon the City Of Regina will either declare that we’ll have a civic referendum on the plan to have private companies build and manage our new waste water treatment plant, or it will declare that the petition, which pulled in 5,000 more signatures than was necessary, is invalid. The Leader-Post has a story here, and Global has a really short story with a big factual error here (Regina Water Watch isn’t opposed to a new–NOT expanded, like the Global story incorrectly says– waste water plant. They’re opposed to Regina’s waste water treatment being privatized).
2 EVERYONE KNOWS WOMEN WHO SAY THEY’VE BEEN RAPED ARE LYING Oh great, some so-called men’s rights activists are putting up ignorant, offensive, borderline hate-crime posters in Saskatoon. What a pack of dangerous and delusional egomaniacs who need to get help. People who are genuinely concerned about the well-being of the privileged gender should read this. Or, alternately, fuck off. Seriously.
3 THE BATOCHE CHURCH BELL COMES HOME Nice! Also, Batoche is lovely. You should all go there for a visit.
