We weren’t able to squeeze in a preview of this in our May 30 Best of Grub issue, but June 6-8 noted American author, media personality, lecturer and photographer Phil Cousineau (pictured) will be in town to do a book signing at Chapters and conduct two workshops exploring the topics of creativity, spirituality and travel.
If you’re not familiar with Cousineau and the work he does, here’s a link to his website. And here’s a rundown on what he’ll be up to during his time in Regina. On Thursday, June 6 he’ll be at Chapters to do a book signing from 7-9 p.m. Cousineau is the author of several best-selling books, among them Stoking the Creative Fires: 9 Ways to Rekindle Passion & Imagination and The Art of Pilgrimmage: The Seeker’s Guide to Making Travel Sacred.
On Friday June 7 Cousineau will conduct a seminar on themes he explores in The Art of Pilgrimmage on how to move beyond tourism when we travel to develop a deeper connection with places that we visit and explore. The seminar will be held at Unitarian Centre (College Ave. & Angus St.) from 7-9 p.m. Admission is $33, and tickets and additional information can be found here.
On Saturday, June 8 Cousineau will host a workshop at the MacKenzie Art Gallery between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This workshop is inspired by themes explored in Stoking the Creative Fires, and will involve some lecture material, discussion and writing and sketching exercises.
