If you’re looking for some hot goat on invasive plant species action this weekend, make sure you swing by Wascana Centre. Last August, you’ll perhaps recall, centre authorities brought in some goats to have a chomp-fest to try to control weeds and whatnot without herbicides. The experiment must have proven successful, because today through Monday the goats will be back grazing near Douglas Park Hill.
The goats should be visible from a distance throughout the weekend. But Saturday from 1-3 p.m. there’s a special public viewing in the Habitat Conservation Area. According to organizers, clearing out the invasive species makes room for native grass species to reestablish themselves.
