Exciting day of music at Sasquatch! The Sunday schedule littered with big names. It was a hot day and the crowds were jacked and dense in anticipation of the festival climax. Our day went like this:
Wake Owl @ the Yeti stage at 1:00 pm- Saskatchewan connection alert! Regina’s own Andy Shuaf was at the drum kit for this gig. Wake Owl, from Vancouver, played in the early afternoon, and the crowd came together to sing Shuaf happy birthday too! These guys are delightfully talented and had a blast.

The Tallest Man on Earth @ the Sasquatch stage at 4:20 – An extraordinarily talented guitarist The Tallest Man on Earth flat picks his way back in time. His vintage sounding guitar riffs and in depth lyrics made this an awesome show. Well received, The Tallest Man on Earth show was a festival favorite.
Shad @ the Yeti stage at 6:35 – Another great Canadian rapper played on the Yeti stage today. Shad had the crowd bopping their heads to his rap.
Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros @ the Sasquatch stage at 7:10 – I have rarely seen a group of people freak out and dance as hard as the crowd at the Edward Sharpe show. Playing the sunset time slot the crowd was on board from the opening track ‘Janglin’ through to an epic conclusion with ‘Home’. By far one of the most feel good shows of the festival. Thanks to a connection in the documentary Big Easy Express (a documentary featuring Mumford & Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros jamming and touring on a train from LA to New Orleans) Marcus Mumford joined the band on stage for a track, just adding to the anticipation of the Mumford & Sons show to come.
Elvis Costello & the Imposters @ the Sasquatch stage at 8:45 – There is something jazzy about Elvis Costello. Dressed like a really fancy barbershop quartet leader Costello was working hard, sweating it out on stage. Little chitchat and terrific tunes was his mantra.
Grimes @ the Bigfoot stage at 10:00 – Canada’s Grimes light up the Bigfoot stage with her electronic, ambient sound later on Sunday. She had the crowd in a trance, floating around the stage with backup dancers.
Mumford & Sons – @ the Sasquatch stage at 11:00- As expected the Mumford & Sons blew fans away at Sasquatch! The show was basically back-to-back hits to a super appreciative crowd. Mumford & Sons definitely united a lot of fans. The show ended with the entire Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros entourage taking the stage with the Mumford & Sons for a beautiful rendition of the song Chains by Fleetwood Mac.
