Hosted by New Dance Horizons, this is a fundraiser for its in-house production company Rouge-Gorge plus the Prairie Dance Circuit which allows dance companies in different cities to collaborate on the presentation of work.
As the cabaret title suggests, the theme references the traditional roots of May Day as celebration of the working class and, dating back to pagan times, a bacchanalia to herald the arrival of spring. It goes Wednesday night at Artesian on 13th at 7 p.m. and includes food, drink, a silent auction and a several performances by local artists and musicians including Robin Poitras, Pat Steel, Chrisandra Stradeski and Richie Pollack.
Tickets are $30 and can be obtained by contacting NDH at (306) 525-5393.
