Talking Fresh is an annual conference hosted by the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild. This year’s theme is Writing Canada, Eh?, and participants include poet Kimmy Beach, non-fiction writer Noah Richler, fiction writer Joel Thomas Hynes and filmmaker and playwright Chrystene Ells.
In a series of workshops, panel discussions and lectures, the four writers will explore the impact of place on their work and how we as a province and country perceive ourselves through our literature.
The conference proper runs March 8-9 at the Artesian on 13th. You can find out more about the schedule by visiting the SWG website. And things will kick-off Thursday night with a screening of Ells’ film Sisu — The Death of Tom Sukanen at the Saskatchewan Filmpool (301-1822 Scarth St.) at 7 p.m.
