This lecture is a cooperative effort between the University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada and Campion and Luther Colleges. According to a press release we received at the office, it highlights their  “joint commitment to a common academic and social purpose that promotes inclusiveness, understanding, social justice, and human rights.”

This year’s speaker is Saskatchewan-born singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie. The topic of her talk is “Detoxifying Aboriginal Self-Identity”. The lecture goes tonight at First Nations University at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, and the talk will be followed by a reception and book signing for First Nations University professor Blair Stonechild’s recently published biography of Sainte-Marie which is titled Buffy Sainte-Marie: It’s My Way.
