In one of the most dubious developments during last night’s Academy Awards, Disney won the Oscars to Best Animated Feature (Brave) and Best Animated Short (Paperman). It felt like the studio had an unfair advantage next to the other nominees, some of them independent filmmakers with one-hundredth of the budget.
One of the shorts crushed by Disney was Fresh Guacamole, a one man tour-de-force. A minute and a half long, Fresh Guacamole has no plot or depth. It’s pure stop-motion wonder.
