When I checked the RSO website I couldn’t find any information about what form tonight’s concert at Government House will take. The Marriage of Figaro  is a comic opera composed by Mozart in 1786. I don’t think it’s the RSO’s intent to perform the work in its entirety. More likely, a chamber group will just perform excerpts. Still,The Marriage of Figaro is a standard of the classical canon, so it should be an entertaining concert.

The performance goes tonight at 8 p.m., with a second concert at Government House Sunday at 3 p.m. Also on the program is a string quartet by Beethoven. To give you a taste, here’s an excerpt from a 1998 Metropolitan Opera performance of The Marriage of Figaro:
