N.Y.C. rap crew Das Racist are over. The dirty details are no doubt forthcoming, but it probably won’t be surprising. Nothing about this band, who made a name for themselves with “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell”, screamed longevity. That said, they’ve got two good mixtapes to their name and one fantastic album, last year’s Relax. Really, it was one of the best of 2011 and proved there was nothing like them in the game.
They aren’t leaving you with nothing; Himanshu Suri of the group recently released a new mixtape, Wild Water Kingdom, that’s worth a listen.
