Set in suburban Pittsburgh in 1991-92, this film, which is based on a best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, explores the trials and tribulations of an introverted high school freshman who seems destined for four years of hell until he’s befriended by a free-spirited brother and sister who jokingly call themselves “Slut and the Falcon.”
