After last night’s freezing rain and semi-melty temperatures pretty much all of Regina is a skating rink. But if you’re one of those purists who insists on skating on an actual rink when you strap on the blades you’ll soon have the opportunity to do so in Victoria Park.

This is something that the city and the Downtown Regina BID have been doing for a few years now. The toll it takes on the grass is usually pretty severe, so come spring some resodding will be required. But this year’s rink is way better than the postage stamp size one that was installed in the middle of the plaza last winter.

The building on the right side of the photo will presumably serve as a place to put your skates on and warm-up after you’ve been skating. You’ll find another view of the rink from near the cenotaph after the jump.
