Here’s a link to a tender that was posted on the Government of Saskatchewan website today stating that SGI was in the market to unload a 184,000 sq. ft. high rise office tower in Regina (presumably the one pictured at left) with further plans to move into a new 210,000 sq. ft office building.

If you recall a few years ago, we had a horrendous windstorm one afternoon that necessitated the evacuation of the SGI tower. It was said at the time, I think, that the building needed some significant structural upgrades. So you might be able to get it for a bargain price.

As for where SGI might be relocating to, for now that remains a mystery. There was talk a couple of years ago about a big-ass office building at the corner of Rose and 12th Ave (currently the site of a surface parking lot). I don’t know what the status of that project is, or if it’s related in any way to SGI.
