You can’t go wrong with anything at tonight’s shows. Want suggestions? Well, okay. How about these? I’ve seen all three acts and they’re all super-duper!
SIDNEY YORK (12:00, The Exchange) All-girl pop rock with great chops. Hooray! I like their their 2011 album Apocalyptic Radio Cynic. Here’s their best song, “Mile High Love”.
IMAGINARY CITIES (12:00, McNalley’s) Also at midnight! So much to see! This Winnipeg band opened for the Pixies! Sound is very Can-con indie rock. Very, very good and possibly destined for greatness. Couldn’t pick a favourite song, here’s “Say You”.
LIBRARY VOICES (11:00, O’Hanlon’s) Regina’s pop heroes play a rare gig on the O’Han’s stage! Their show on the Plaza last night had some fun plot twists, including a new version of “Regina, I Don’t Want To Fight” and the song “The Prime Minister’s Daughter” dedicated to prairie dog (yay!) In tonight’s episode, Mike Dawson will attempt to overcome serious malfunctions. Will he succeed? Will Eoin be taking drink orders? Will Carl DJ a dance party? Find out at O’Hanlon’s!
