Breakout West runs in Regina Sept. 27-30. It’s an annual showcase of music and musicians from western Canada (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. and the Yukon) that is held each year in a different city.

The event, which also includes the Western Canadian Music Awards and a music-themed conference, was last in Regina in 2003. prairie dog did a program guide for the event, and it turned out to be a ton of fun, with all sorts of great bands in town to play showcase gigs at different venues.

Thursday at 1:30 p.m. there’s a press conference at Sask Energy’s head office at 1717 Victoria Ave to launch a recruitment drive for volunteers to do the various jobs necessary to ensure the festival, which will feature over 50 bands, is a success again this year.

If you’re interested in volunteering for Breakout West, visit the website on the adjacent poster for more info.
