Monday’s always a bit of a slow day in Regina. Although if you’re a baseball fan, at the time I did this post (Saturday), the Regina Red Sox were scheduled to host the first game of the WMBL East Division Final at Currie Field (game time 7 p.m.) After demolishing the Weyburn Beavers in three straight games in their best of five East semi-final by a combined score of 35-10, the Sox were preparing to play either the Melville Millionaires or the Moose Jaw Miller Express.

Tuesday night, though, Yukon-based roots musician Gordie Tentrees is playing a show at Creative City Centre (7 p.m., tickets $20). Also featured on the bill is Roger Marin. He hails from Ontario, and has a stint in Fred Eaglesmith’s band to his credit. Another show that’s going the same night  will see Winnipeg-based jazz/folk/rock group Flying Fox & the Hunter Gatherers play at O’Hanlon’s Pub with an opening set by Rah Rah frontman Marshall Burns.

To close, here’s video of Gordie Tentrees and the making of his latest album North Country Heart:
