In the mid-70s I remember driving into Saskatoon from Kindersley to catch Bachman Turner Overdrive at a sold-out Grandstand concert at Pioneer Days which was what I think Saskatoon’s Exhibition was called back then. Hammersmith backed up BTO, and the show was awesome.
Tonight, the two principals from that band Randy Bachman and Fred Turner are in town to play a show at Casino Regina (8 p.m. $80, $85.) To maybe rekindle a few memories for people planning to attend, here’s video from 2010 of the dynamic duo performing “Roll On Down the Highway”:
