The Regina Folk Festival isn’t the drum circle Mecca that many similar Canadian festivals are. At Winnipeg Folk Festival, for example, the only time I remember there not being at least one drum circle in the festival campgrounds is when Xavier Rudd was playing on the main stage. Otherwise, it was 24 hours a day, as far as I could tell.
But I know there are some drum circle hopefuls who come to the RFF and I’ve heard their efforts, normally sometime after the main stage is all wrapped up for the night. So, for them, here’s a helpful little video from the great folks at Everything Is Terrible! about how to have the best drum circle you can.
Be sure to put all that into practice when the RFF gets started tomorrow.
