With all the anniversaries that have been occuring this year (the Regina Tornado, Saskatchewan Legislature, Medicare, Wascana Centre) we’ve had some wonderful opportunities to acquaint ourselves with different aspects of our municipal and provincial history and heritage .

This annual theatre production based on court transcripts when Metis leader Louis Riel (pictured) was tried for treason and convicted in Regina in 1885 offers us another chance to reflect back on an important event that still has repercussions in our province and country 127 years after it happened.

The Trial of Louis Riel runs at the Mackenzie Gallery, July 18-20, July 25-27 and Aug. 1-3 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 Adults, $12 Seniors & Students, $10 Youth (12 and under). For more information call (306) 728-5728.
