Yesterday, the Stranger‘s Paul Constant posted about a promotional website where you can “demand” that Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 be brought to your town. In case you missed it, Atlas Shrugged: Part 1 was the first half of a long-time-coming adaptation of Ayn Rand’s objectivist tome of the same name. Minus the “Part 1” part — the novel Atlas Shrugged comes only in one brick-like installment.
By giving his area code and an e-mail address, Constant found out that, at the time, 63 people had done the same in his area, bringing him that much closer to seeing the series to a close. When I did the same thing … well, you can see the lonely result to your left.
Why not ask them nicely to bring Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 to a Regina theatre? I can catch you up on the story so far very quickly: all liberals are greedy and petty and evil and titans of commerce are dead-eyed robots that we must admire.
C’mon, guys! Strict commerce or hard work on the part of the movie producers won’t bring this movie to Regina! It requires some kind of collective action on our part, a bit of cinematic socialism. Let’s make this happen.
