I went for a walk last night, heading south on Scarth St. from the downtown toward Wascana Centre. When I got to 13th Ave. I observed a car turn right off of Scarth onto 13th and proceed east on the avenue toward Broad. The motorist was going the wrong way down a one-way, of course, but it got me thinking. West of Albert and east of Broad 13th Ave. is two-way, and it occurred to me that maybe it should be two-way between Albert and Broad too.

Right now, I don’t think a huge purpose is served by it being one-way, and if motorists heading downtown on 13th from the Cathedral area could continue along 13th, it would take a bit of the pressure off Victoria Ave and maybe even 11th Ave as far as entering the downtown from the west or exiting the downtown and going east.

Thoughts?
