There’s a reception for this exhibition happening at Creative City Centre tomorrow between 7-10 p.m. In an e-mail alerting us to the event, Andrea Norberg had this to say about her project:
I’m a photographer in Regina who got sick of hearing stories of yet another kid committing suicide due to the bullying they were suffering because of their sexual orientation. This started out as a book project, also called The Coming Out Project. It’s a collection of people’s coming out stories, meant to help engender understanding for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered community.
The book was phase one of the project, and it launched back in November with the original 12 participants and the project continues to grow. The gallery show is phase two. I thought this seemed like it might be the sort of show that prairie dog would be interested in covering, particularly as the official show opening will be in tandem with Pride Week Celebrations.
