From Vancouver, Wintermitts (pictured) are described by CBC Radio as a “genre-bending six piece” that sing in French and English and include trumpt and accordian among the mix of instruments they incorporate into their sound.
They’ve been around since 2005, and earlier this year released their latest album Oceans. They also have second full-length to their credit, Heirloom, which was released in 2008.
Tonight, they were to have played a show at the Artful Dodger (1631 11th Ave.) with local favourites Indigo Joseph. But because of ongoing renovations at the Artful Dodger that show has been moved to the Exchange.
To give you a sense of the band, here’s a seven minute video that goes behind the scenes when they were recording Oceans.
