If you like psychobilly, you’ll love this show tonight at the Exchange by the Texas-based trio fronted by Jim Heath (9 p.m., tickets $27.50). Backing them up will be the Real McKenzies.

As for where Heath got his stage name from, Heat is simply a shortened version of his last name, while he took Horton from the legendary U.S. balladeer Johnny Horton. As for the Reverend part, that was a nickname a Dallas club owner hung on him when he was just starting out.

To give you a taste of what Reverend Horton Heat are like, here’s the video for “Wiggle Stick” from 1993.
