As I noted in the 14 Days top six blurb for this gig in our March 22 mag, singer and and rhythm guitarist Taylor Momsen (pictured blonde at left) is pretty much the face of this New York-based rock band.
Momsen first made a name for herself in the entertainment industry as an actor. At age seven in 2000, she played Cindy Lou Who in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. From 2007-11, she played Jenny Humphrey in the CW teen drama Gossip Girl. She also had a role in Gus Van Sant’s 2008 movie Paranoid Park. Lately, though, she’s dropped acting to concentrate on her music career.
Tonight, The Pretty Reckless, which also includes Ben Phillips on lead guitar, Mark Damon on bass and Jamie Perkins on drums, play a show at the Exchange (doors at 7 p.m., tickets $16 adv.). They’ll be backed up by the Parlor Mob and Hollywood Kills. To give you a taste, here’s the video for The Pretty Reckless’s 2010 song “Miss Nothing”.
