Per Sonatori is a local musical group that specializes in compositions from the Baroque period. That was a style of art that followed the Renaissance in Europe, and lasted from around 1600 to 1760. Baroque was typically characterized, in art and architecture, by lavish ornamentation and, in music, by elaborate instrumentation.

Tonight’s performance by Per Sonatori is at Westminister United Church (3025 13th Ave.) at 8 p.m. ($15 Adults, $12 Students, Children seven and under free). The program will feature compositions highlighting the flute, and will include contributions from Tara Semple, Marie-Noelle Berthelet and David Poppoff.
