Organized by Gary Varro and the folks at Queer City Cinema, this three-day festival of queer performance kicks off Thursday night with a series of artist talks and a panel discussion at Riddell Centre (Rm 050) at the University of Regina. The event runs from 6-9 p.m., and participants include Zackary Drucker (Los Angeles); Heather Cassils (Los Angeles/Montreal); Helena Goldwater (London); Jamie Lewis Hadley (London); and Cindy Baker (Saskatoon); with Blair Fornwald, newly named curator at the Dunlop Gallery, as moderator.
Friday and Saturday, the above-noted artists will be presenting actual performances. Aging, gender, queer history and culture, even the physicality of professional wrestling, are some of the issues they will explore.
