1 OIL EMBARGO The EU is banning the import of Iranian oil because of controversy surrounding the country’s nuclear programme. Given the direct link between a so-called nuclear threat and oil incentives, it is no surprise that the US supports these sanctions.
2 BACHMANN OUT Republican candidate Michele Bachmann announced that she was withdrawing from the presidential nomination race earlier today. At today’s news conference she even managed to drop the “Obamacare” bomb one last time.
