The original King Arthur by17th-century English playwright John Dryden (pictured) was a bit of a bum-nummer. This is a condensed version. Saskatoon Opera commissioned it from playwright Charlie Peters and Barbara Montalbetti, and it focuses on King Arthur’s return to Camelot after being victorious in battle.
Assisting Saskatoon Opera with the production of this mini-opera are the University of Saskatchewan Music Theatre Ensemble and the Baroque period Amanti Quartet. The performance is at the somewhat Camelot-looking Knox Met Church tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $15 for students. For more info call (306) 384-7727.
