The Toronto International Film Festival opens September 8 and will run to the 18th this month. As always there’s the usual big films with the big celebrities out there hocking their wares but here are a couple of films that might fly under the radar.

A warning. Most of these trailers are in their original language and don’t have subtitles but they still look pretty cool.

Carre Blanc. According to the IMDB this French film is “In the future, society’s weak are killed and used for meat.”

Chicken With Plums. Written and directed by Marjane Satrapi and based on her popular graphic novel of the same name.

Headshot. This film from Thailand director Pen-ek Ratanaruang (Last Life in the Universe) features a cop who is shot in the head.

Twixt. Francis Ford Coppola’s latest experimental movie is horror movie about a writer investigating a series of murders in a small town.
