Like the poster says, there’s 30 acts performing at the 2011 Regina Folk Festival which runs Aug. 5-7 in Victoria Park. If you want info on any or all of them, your best bet is to pick up a copy of our handy guide that was inserted into our July 28 issue. Either that, or visit www.reginafolkfestival.com

I’m sure other prairie dog contributors will be weighing in (if they haven’t already) with suggestions for must-see acts this weekend. But with this post, I’ll concentrate on the three acts that will be headlining on the mainstage.

Friday night, Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall will do the honours. To give you a sense of what she’s like, here’s the video for her song “Suddenly I See” which was featured in the movie The Devil Wears Prada

Saturday night’s mainstage headliner is k.d. lang, who will be performing with the Sis Boom Bang. Here’s video of lang and her band performing “Sugar Buzz” on Jimmy Kimmel Live a few months ago.

Finally, on Sunday night Hawksley Workman closes the RFF with a mainstage performance at 10:15 p.m. I did a pre-festival email Q & A with him. If you want to know what the inspiration was for (The Happiest Day I Know Is A) Tokyo Bicycle , find out here. (scroll down to the last artist)

And happy Folk Festivaling everyone.
