I think every journalist longs to close out an article with those words, but it was one of the unnamed minions of the Hollywood Reporter who got the honour.
They talked with Isaac Hanson — of the band Hanson, of the hit single “MMMBop” — about the recent live meltdown of 104.9 the Wolf staple Kings of Leon. The one where their frontman was so drunk the show had to stop and a tour had to be canceled. (The Kings also happen to be a favourite of the people who do the free Victoria Park Wednesday movies. Every time I go, I hear at least five of their tracks before Back to the Future or Harry Potter or whatever else starts up.)
Isaac said to the paper of the Kings of Leon, “They’re irritating people; you can’t do that too much. Eventually the bad boy image affects fans’ willingness to show up. Their fans will get bummed out.”
Well, that’s settled.
In case you hadn’t heard, Hanson will actually be coming through Regina soon-ish. They’re over at the Casino Regina Show Lounge on Saturday, September 3. Ticket info and such over here. You can be sure that, if Isaac’s being truthful in his Hollywood Reporter interview, he’ll only flip you the bird if you deserve it.
Also, I’ve always been charmed by the casino’s site listing the songs you might know from any given artist. So, when you’re sitting there looking at the listings and you think to yourself, “Wait — who are Default again?”, it’s easy as anything to just click on their event page and go “Oh, now I remember. They did “Wasting My Time”. Yeah, I’m OK that night.”
