On the bright side, the Riders are scheduled to launch a new brand of gourmet Rider Pride ice cream and ice cream cakes later this month. The special Rider flavour is made with Jerry’s Artisan premium spearmint ice cream & chocolate cookie crunch, and VIP tastings are scheduled for Saskatoon on July 26 and Regina on July 29. After that, the ice cream and cakes will be available at Jerry’s Food Emporium in Saskatoon, Casino Regina and Italian Star Deli in Regina, and Co-op grocery stores across Saskatchewan.
The press release promises a tasty treat that Rider fans are sure to love. Although after an 0-3 start, in which their beloved team has been demolished by a combined score of 114-56, I suspect what fans would really find tasty is a win — or at least a competitive performance. Will they get one against the Alouettes next Sunday in Montreal? At this point, the odds would seem to be long.
