The folks at the A.V. Club didn’t sound too, too positive when they were talking about the prime time Emmy nominations, which were still forthcoming when they discussed it on their Reasonable Discussions podcast.
It’s true, there are a lot of unsurprising nominees in here. And Community getting snubbed hurts, as creator Dan Harmon would probably admit. But, there are some really deserved ones that give me a bit of hope.
Examples? How about Louis C.K. getting nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his excellent FX show Louie?
And Friday Night Lights, which just wrapped it’s fifth and final season, did well in the major categories, getting nods for Outstanding Drama Series and Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Drama Series, for Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton respectively.
I hope FNL sweeps it. They’re the best actors who just finished the best season of what may be the best T.V. show.
To do some early (and hopefully warranted) celebration, here’s a video of Britton’s character dropping a lot of y’alls.
