Or maybe I should revert to the old title for this downtown summer lecture series that started out as a collaboration between Regina Downtown Business Improvement District and the University of Regina Faculty of the Arts before everything fell apart.

The original title was Profs in the Park as the intention had been to hold the noon hour talks (12:15-12:45 p.m., actually) in Victoria Park. Neutral Ground Contemporary Art Forum is the new home for the series. But today, Education professor and long-time homelessness researcher Marc Spooner (pictured) will deliver his talk Some Thoughts on Homelessness, Permanent Temporary Shelters, the Charity Model & What Needs to Be Done in Victoria Park.

Spooner, you might recall, ran for the NDP in Regina Wascana in the recent federal election. The topic he’s discussing is an important one with ramifications in areas like health, education, criminal justice and social services.  So if you get a chance, stop by.
