Tomorrow’s a holiday, so if you’re in the mood to catch some live music tonight you don’t have to worry about getting up early. At the Exchange, it’s a heavy metal blowout with Hate Eternal, Origin, Vital Remains, Abysmal Dawn and Conquered Empyrean. Doors are at 7 p.m., and tickets are $23.75.

At the German Club, local alt-country favourites The Lonesome Weekends are playing a show. Awhile back, the band released their debut CD Songs for Lonesome Weekends (pictured). Tickets are $5.

At Creative City Centre (1843 Hamilton), it’s HowOwl, the psychedelic folk rock project of Blair Hornung, along with B-Side Champions.  Show’s at 8 p.m., and tickets are $10.

Finally, at McNally’s Tavern it’s Redbeard’s Tribute to Canadian Music. $5.

Tomorrow night, the hard-rocking Canuck trio C’mon are playing O’Hanlon’s Pub with Bright Black. It’s the last live show at the pub for a time as renovations to expand the bar kick into high gear. To close, here’s video of C’mon performing “Mirrors” at a 2010 show in Moncton.
