According to the Saskatchewan Cultural Exchange website, this show at the Exchange tonight is being presented by prairie dog magazine. I’m not sure what that means exactly, other than that we’ve likely been giving some tickets away on Facebook and one or more of us will likely be in attendance to hobnob with fans.
Later this summer, Library Voices is set to release Summer of Lust — the follow-up album to 2010’s Denim on Denim. Through the Saskatchewan’s Arts Board Culture on the Go program the band has secured a $20,000 grant to finance a national tour to support the album. The group will also be playing a number of festivals, including the main stage at the Regina Folk Festival on Aug. 6.
Tonight’s show at the Exchange is a release party for the seven-inch single “Generation Handclap”. Opening act is Indigo Joseph, and the show should get going at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door. To close, here’s an acoustic version of “Kundera on the Dance Floor” done a few years ago in Calgary.
