While I was out with Steve’s camera today, I also took a few shots of Kim Morgan’s sculpture Antsee which was reinstalled in Victoria Park yesterday. It’s located on a living tree just a little bit south of the Cenotaph. To keep the ants safe from prying hands they’ve been bolted quite high up in the branches.
The previous sculpture proved a popular target for thieves. Anyone who tries to lift an ant now would be wise to consider hiring a chimpanzee to carry out the heist because if they shimmy up the tree and end up taking a tumble they’ll be falling a long way.
