Award-winning documentary that tells the story of Mark Hogancamp. After suffering brain-damage in a savage beating outside a bar by five men, he embarks on a project where he constructs a one-sixth scale World War II town in his backyard. The town is populated with dolls representing friends and family, and through the act of building it and photographing different narratives that he concocts, it serves as a form of therapy for Hogancamp to help him come to grips with the brutal crime committed against him.
Marwencol screens tonight at the RPL Theatre at 7 p.m. Here’s the trailer.
