It’s hip hop night in Regina. Appearing at Brandt Centre is Grammy Award-winning artist Nelly (who was born Cornell Haynes Jr. in Austin Texas in 1974.)
Throughout his career Nelly has collaborated with the likes of Akon, Ashanti and T-Pain. Guest-artists will be performing with him tonight but I don’t know who they might be.
Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $46-$76. To close, here’s the video for Nelly’s tune “Just a Dream” off his 2010 album 5.0.
Also on tonight, Jayden Pfeifer is launching a new comedy showcase called Red Hot Riot. It’s a mix of stand-up, sketch and improv comedy, along with a musical act. Appearing alongside Jayden at tonight’s premiere is his colleague from the General Fools Rob Appleby, Lee Boyes of Combat Improv, Dan MacRae and Graeme Zirk from Pass the Hat, and a comic from Vancouver named Tom Hill.
Musical guest is the divine Belle Plaine (Melanie Hankewich).
It all goes down at the Artesian on 13th at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.
