For several years now New Dance Horizons has hosted a Blueprint series at its Harvey St. studio where dance and other artists present work in various stages of development and get feedback from the audience on where things are at.

With NDH in the midst of a three-month residency at the MacKenzie Art Gallery it’s shifted the series to the gallery. Tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. the first Blueprint will be held. It will feature work by Charlie Fox, Erin Gee, John Hampton and Jeff Morton of the local sound art group holophon.ca, along with NDH artistic director Robin Poitras and other guest performers. Following the performance, Robin Poitras and John Hampton will lead a talkback session.

March 6 at 2 p.m. Connie Moker Wernikowski (pictured), the former artistic director of the Youth Ballet Company of Saskatchewan, will present Ten Rainy Phrases in collaboration with Jeff Morton. Advance publicity describes it as “a meditative work inspired by the light and weight of water”. Also that day Lia Pas and Jackie Latendresse will perform a duet.

The final Blueprint on March 27 will feature new work by Caitlin Coflin, again in collaboration with Jeff Morton, along with the solo dance Tunde by Chancz Perry. The latter will be performed with live percussion by Godknows Kumassah, and is said to explore the life of an African warrior.

Tickets for each Blueprint are $10 at the door. For more info call 525-5393.
