When Shakespeare was doing his thing in the 16th century, the term rom-com had yet to be coined. Had it been, it definitely would have applied to his play A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Written in 1596, and loosely set in ancient Athens, the play’s plot defies easy synopsis. But rest assured, there’s a whole pile of romantic intrigue involving a host of mortal and supernatural characters.
This production, which boasts a bit of a Bollywood twist, is being presented by Do It With Class Young People’s Theatre, and runs Feb. 2-4 at Conexus Arts Centre’s Shumiatcher Hall at 7:30 p.m. For ticket info call 525-9999.
