Advance publicity from the RPL Theatre describes this film as a “thinking man’s Judd Apatow flick”. I’d take that to mean that there’s still plenty of strong language and maybe even some gross-out comedy, but the characters are generally thoughtful and measured in response to the curves that life throws their way.

Basic plot synopsis: an ex-junkie (Joel Bissonette) enlists his brother (Adam Scott), a struggling writer, to chauffeur him around L.A. Why?  Well, that’s not exactly clear. But the mini road trip does give the brothers a chance to engage with each other.

Passenger Side plays at the RPL Theatre tonight at 9 p.m. Here’s the trailer.
