Just got an email from the Regina Folk Festival announcing the Friday, January 28th concert appearance of Indo-Canadian folk singer Kiran Ahluwalia at The Artesian. Kirann has been on the scene for quite a while, and now lives in New York City with her husband and guitar player Rez Abassi (who always reminds me of the Leader-Post‘s former Entertainment Co-ordinator Nick Miliokas, in both appearance and sense of humour).
Kiran’s music is rich and sensuous in Punjab traditions, and tickets to her concert would make a great Christmas gift for that special someone.
