Inspired by Russian and German folk tales, this ballet was first performed at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1877.  It features music composed by Tchaikovsky, and tells the story of a princess named Odette who is turned into a swan by a devious sorcerer’s curse.

It’s being performed tonight and tomorrow night at Conexus Arts Centre by the American-based Moscow Ballet company, Curtain tonight is at 7:30 p.m., tomorrow it’s at 8 p.m. Tix range from $45.50-$88.25. Here’s a short excerpt from a Bolshoi Ballet performance of the same ballet.
