Curated by Wendy Peart, this exhibition features ten Canadian artists who have a history of using fabric in their practice. The twist here is that, as the show’s title indicates, the artists are using thread and other types of filaments to mark-make, create objects and bind things together. Through that process, they explore issues related to domesticity, gender, manual labour and confinement and containment.
Names that might be familiar to Regina audiences include Martha Cole, Sheila Nourse, Judy McNaughton and Christopher Campbell Gardiner.
Thread — Bound runs at the Art Gallery of Regina until Oct. 16.
